From Our President
Is anyone else feeling excited for the cooler weather? Fall always seems to bring a boost of productivity for me, and while life has been busy, I’ve still managed to carve out some time in my sewing room. Maybe even a bit more than I should—if there is such a thing! It has been a welcome change of pace.
We are still working to finalize our committees for the upcoming year. If you’re looking for a fun and creative way to volunteer for the guild, we have openings for leading the Block of the Month and Challenges committees. You’ll have the chance to showcase the incredible talent within our guild by picking themes that inspire creativity. We also have a board position open for Secretary. If you’re interested in any of these positions, be sure to chat with me at the meeting! We will hold our board elections at our November meeting. Looking forward to seeing all of you at our meeting!

2024 Block of the Month
The Youngster Beelet
This year we will be using Amanda Castor's Circle City Sampler pattern for the Block of the Month.
We will be breaking the pattern up in the same manner as the 2023 Shop Hop. For those of you that bought the kits and haven't broken into them yet, this is your YEAR!!

Amanda requested that everyone doing the Block of the Month purchase a copy of the pattern. Amanda has offered a 25 % discount code: SCRAPBASKETCCS
Each month the blocks that need to be completed will be posted on the website and listed in the newsletter.
Before October we will be putting sections 5-7 together!
Challenges
Tammie Earnest and Linda Auberry
"Fall Harvest Fat Quarter Feast"
For this challenge, select fall-themed fat quarters and create a project that captures the warmth and richness of the season. Whether you’re inspired by the vibrant hues of autumn leaves, cozy pumpkins, or the crisp harvest air, let’s see how you bring fall to life in your creations! We can’t wait to see the fall magic you create!
Happy quilting!
A few challenge completions from last month:
Cheer
Rhonda Nelson
If you know of any Scrapbasket member needing a little cheer, please let Rhonda Nelson know. She will be happy to send a card from all of us. Thank you.
Donation Quilts
Susan Cinkoske, Lynne Secondino, Linda Cook, Karen Pollard
Thank you very much for the pillowcases and other donations! In November we will be taking any holiday stockings you wish to donate. November is also the last month this year for donations as we will not be collecting any in December.
Your generosity is much appreciated!
Quilts of Valor
In my high school journalism class we were taught that when you finished writing your article you did not write “THE END.” Instead you put a -30- at the bottom of the article to acknowledge you were finished.
Well, it’s time to put a -30- on QOV for 2024.
Please return projects to me at the October and November meetings. That includes block kits, finished or unfinished, and pillowcases.
It’s especially important to return unfinished block kits. We only cut enough kits to make one quilt top. If we don’t have all the blocks we can’t make the quilt top. I will finish the blocks as needed and put the quilt top together.
If you can’t make it to a meeting, send it with a friend or call me. 317 769 5690.
We’ve had a very productive year. You have made many wonderful quilts. I will have a total of your accomplishments in the December newsletter.
“Thanks for your sewing.”
Susan
