We meet at The Well.Community

From Our President

As we welcome the arrival of April, we find ourselves under the captivating spell of nature once again. This month, we were graced with the eclipse spectacle. I hope everyone had the chance to experience this amazing event! It's a reminder of the intricate dance between light and darkness, a theme that resonates deeply with our craft. As we gather this month, let's draw inspiration from this natural phenomenon and the signs that spring is here.

A friendly reminder, our website members section password changed this month and you received the new password when dues for the year were paid. If you misplaced the password or need to get your dues paid, please see Jenna when you sign in for the night.

I'm excited to see all of you next week and your beautiful creations! As always, if you have any thoughts or ideas you would like to discuss with me I would love to hear from you. Please don't hesitate to come and talk with me prior to our meeting!

UPCOMING PROGRAMS

April 16 Program:
Quilters seeking Blue Ribbons
Doris Goins

During Doris’s presentation we will learn what criteria quilt judges use while judging quilts. This undoubtedly will improve our personal quilting with design and construction tips and tricks. Doris has been a certified quilting judge since 2005. I’m excited for her to share her wealth of knowledge and experience with us!

Workshop: Mock Judging
April 17  10am-1pm
Cost: $10.00

Come see what happens before the ribbons are awarded! Bring as many quilts as you like for a morning of fun! Bring your quilt and have it judged…just for fun and as a way to receive feedback on how to improve your quilting! Come and enjoy talking about quilts even if you don’t have a quilt you would like critiqued. There is a great deal to learn during the critiques of works of art.

Challenges
Tammie Earnest and Linda Auberry

It’s April!! Let’s celebrate by embracing the freshness of spring and creating a project using charm squares.A charm pack is a bundle of 5" quilting squares featuring an array of coordinating fabric from a designer's collection. Charm pack fabrics are a fast, fun way to make quilts come together like magic. So, if you have a precut charm pack, pull it out and pick a pattern. Quilting squares can be used to make a variety of projects, from table runners to full-size quilts & beyond! If you don’t have a pre-cut, feel free to use your stash and curate your own bundle!

Looking forward to May . . . Fabric Flower Garden

Select a fabric panel featuring flowers or a garden scene to create a quilt, wallhanging, or other project.

Quilts of Valor

I will not be at this month’s meeting as my Grandkids will be visiting from Boston.  As they say, having grandkids visit trumps everything else.

Many of you were asking about the patterns for the two QOV that Dana showed last month.  (See photos below.)
They can be found in the Missouri Star Block Idea Books. Super Simple Squares is in Spring Vol. 4 Issue 2 Linked Up is in Holiday Vol 4 Issue 4

Just an update, we sold 138 tickets and $116 at Love It Sew during the Quilters Guild Shop Hop.  Special thanks to owner Katie and the few of you who volunteered to the shop to talk about our quilt and our great guild to help our ticket sales.  Your dedication made a difference!
