We meet on the third Tuesday of the month at 7:00 pm.

Shannon Downey  “CrossStitch and Embroidery”

Shannon Downey is an American crafter and activist. Downey is recognized as a leader in the field of craftivism, using cross-stitching as an activism tool. Downey serves as director of development at Asian American Advancing Justice and is an adjunct professor at DePaul University and Columbia College
Shannon will be with via Zoom as she is in Massachusetts caring for her mother who is recovering from surgery.  Shannon will be sharing about her work in community activism through crafting, in particular her work with “Rita’s Quilt”   If you have time, you might want to watch this Youtube video of her interview with Kelly Clarkson.   Shannon is not a stranger to Indiana having done projects with Newfields recently.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hbU3En8bzx0&t=1s

November Quilting Events
Indiana Heritage Quilt Show 2022
The next IHQS show will be Thursday – Saturday, March 3, 4, 5, 2022, at the Monroe Convention Center, Bloomington, IN. This will be their 30th year of great quilt shows!  Workshop instructors will include Cynthia England, Bill Kerr, Lori Miller, Nancy Prince and Christa Watson.  The feature artist will be Peggy Brown.
